Born in the Appalachian region of Kentucky, Judy (judeiiK) Roy Kerrigan has had a lifelong interest in art. Without the luxury of formal art training, judeiiK’s love of nature was instilled while on walks in the woods on the family farm near Dunnville KY, with her Grandmother and her Father. Judeii learned to “hunt” for ginseng, dry-land fish, and may-apples while acquiring a great respect and love for the calm found in nature .
Judeiik resides in Florida and specializes in wildlife paintings from manatees to mermaids. Her canvases are found in nature such as driftwood from the beach, red cedar, oak, or cypress that has lain in a swamp for a long time. There is always something compelling about painting a memory that touches a person’s heart or brings a smile to their face. It is even more special when the canvas you use is a piece of nature or an item that is a special memory. Each piece of art is an original, painted with acrylic paint, and sealed on both sides. She also creates custom paintings and portraits on canvas along with prints, and note cards.
She hopes her love of the simple things in life whether it be a underwater manatees, mermaid, beach scene or an old barn surrounded by woods, will bring a smile to your face, a longing for the peace found in nature and calm to your heart. As she would say;
“I hold the brush and God makes the strokes!”
